WESCO India-Bangalore: Senior Data Steward in Bengaluru East, India

As a Senior Data Steward, you will be responsible for establishing multifaceted standards for data quality required for achieving our planned business outcomes and to design and implement processes to meet those standards. You will collaborate with business stakeholders to assess needs and translate those into requirements that can be acted on by the Data Stewardship team.

Responsibilities:

  • Assesses complex business data requirements, identifies gaps between those requirements and available data; solves moderately complex to difficult problems; takes a new perspective using existing solutions and identifies key barriers/core problems and applies problem-solving skills to resolve complex issues

  • Designs and articulates approaches for solving gaps in data quality relevant to business needs

  • Acts a s a bridge between data consumers and data owners to capture business requirements for data and translates those into concrete deliverables to meet those requirements

  • Defines activities for both the stewardship team and creates requirements for other teams who need to act on data (when those activities are outside the scope of what the stewards are able to accomplish)

  • Serves as lead strategic data resource on department and enterprise-wide projects

  • Participates in the design of physical data stores to ensure that data quality requirements are clear and measurable

  • Actively searches for additional standardization and improvement of data consistency and quality

  • Defines and executes processes to monitor data governance policies and procedures to ensure data integrity and privacy, establish consistent data definitions, and monitor overall data quality

  • Works independently with minimal supervision, may provide guidance or review the work of less experienced professionals

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree – Technology or Business required

  • 5 years of experience applying the principles and procedures for data management in one or more of these core domains (Customer, Product and Supplier) or business processes (Lead to Cash, Procure to Pay, Forecast to Deliver, or Record to Report)

  • 3 - 4 years hands-on experience in data stewardship, and validating data as “fit for purpose”

  • 3 -4 experience in assessing data quality levels, remediating issues, and designing testing rules bases on business needs

  • Experience working with business teams to capture requirements for data features and quality that are needed to drive define business outcomes

  • 7+ years of prior relevant experience preferred
