Amazon Sr. Category Manager in Bengaluru, India
The Sr. Category Manager in the low ASP team will join one of the most ambitious team that is focused on creating a purpose-built experience that connects suppliers with customers, at optimized service levels that enable lower costs for sellers and prices to customers.
The Sr. Category manager will build own and drive scale-up of categories and critical customer-focused initiatives. The person who joins this team must share our passion and commitment for serving value conscious customers and suppliers who focus on selling unbranded products. S/he must be able to balance thinking big, working with ambiguity while driving speed of experimentation. We are looking for self-starters with strong analytical skills and result-orientation. The incumbent should be able to build new mechanisms, influence stakeholders and key leaders using data driven decision making, while operating independently.
Key job responsibilities
Owns delivering business growth in line with the 3 year forecasts.
Owns core inputs (selection, pricing) and outputs (units).
Owns creation of new mechanisms to drive leverage with Business leaders
Drive appropriate relationships with category suppliers, with the objective of achieving the optimal product range at the most optimal cost.
Manage key category suppliers to proactively identify, monitor and optimize opportunities
A day in the life
The successful candidate will be the business owner, with responsibility for signing the right mix of selection in partnership with sellers, adding unique selection that is relevant to value seeking customers, driving traffic conversion and economic improvements while ensuring delivery of top notch customer experience. She/He must be an effective leader and communicator working with our most important partners, as well as with internal colleagues and groups. S/he will have strong business judgment with a track record of strong ownership values and relationship management skills.

5+ years of account management, project or program management or buying experience
Bachelor's degree, or 5+ years of professional or military experience
5+ years of with Excel experience
Experience using data to influence business decisions
Knowledge of Microsoft Access or SQL
Experience driving internal cross-team collaboration
Experience with business analysis and P&L management
Experience driving direction and alignment with cross-functional teams
Candidates with Apparel and Fashion background
