Overview

The Vermont Veterans\' Home is currently seeking to hire part-time VVH Institutional Custodians. These positions may include Housekeeping and/or Laundry job duties. Housekeeping duties are mopping, sweeping, dusting, trash removal, cleaning of living spaces and common areas. Laundry duties are laundering linens and personal clothing, sorting, and folding, delivery and pickup of laundry as well as operation of laundry machines.

\ These are temporary positions working approximately 24 hours per week. We have openings on the 6am - 2:30pm shift, and 11am to 7:30pm shift. The hours will include working weekends and holidays.

The hourly rate may be negotiable based on experience and qualifications.

Environmental Factors

Duties are performed during an assigned shift at the Vermont Veterans Home. Must be able to work outdoors in all types of weather. Good physical condition required. Considerable standing, walking, lifting, and carrying of heavy objects may be required. Weekend and evening hours may be required.Duties are performed in a nursing home environment, including office, common areas and patient care areas. Direct interactions with patients may be extensive, leading to potential exposure to infectious disease or physical injury. Incumbents must be prepared to drive a vehicle in all types of weather.
