Boeing Defense Space & Security (BDS) Global Sales and Marketing is seeking a Senior Proposal Manager in Marketing and Sales , leading key proposals for campaigns across all BDS business units. You may be located in Berkeley, MO, El Segundo, CA, Arlington, VA or Huntsville, AL, but will be expected to travel to program locations, leading multi-functional teams to deliver winning proposals.
Lead proposals for BDS focus campaigns
Understand in depth United States (US) Government defense budget and acquisition processes to be able to advise campaign teams pursuing new US defense program business.
Mentor and lead cross functional teams of subject matter experts in development of US Government and international Defense contract proposals
Organize and lead multi-functional reviews of competitive proposals applying knowledge of Boeing proposal review and approval processes.
Central for the construction and substantiation of proposals, including the overall consistency and continuity across technical, schedule and cost elements of a proposal.
Be well organized and detail-oriented, able to coordinate across diverse businesses, and have a strong understanding of how to identify important aspects of proposals, including key areas of differentiation as well as potential risks and associated mitigations.
Willing to embrace and accept the level of professional business capture mastery necessary to materially impact competitive BDS Focus Captures resulting in program wins.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at Berkeley, MO, El Segundo, CA, Arlington, VA or Huntsville, AL.
This position requires an active U.S. Secret Clearance (US Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active).
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience)
Bachelor’s Degree or higher
5+ years of competitive acquisition experience
5+ years of experience working with external suppliers, internal cross-functional teams, and/or Common Core Functional Teams toward a common goal
5+ years of experience preparing and delivering a Microsoft PowerPoint presentation to leadership or a customer group
Experience leading the development of competitive government proposals
Must be willing to travel 20% of the time or more as needed
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills and Experience)
Master’s Degree or higher
Active Top Secret/SCI Clearance
Previous competitive proposal and cost volume experience
Business case and financial strategy/acumen
Influence/guide teams on content for leadership review
Typical Education & Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+9 years' related work experience, Master+12 years' related work experience, 18 years' related work experience, etc.).
