About the Role:

As the CBRE Technical Sr. Director, you will oversee the global Life Science Sector platforms responsible for engineering and maintenance, quality and compliance, health and safety, and energy and sustainability. You will be responsible for developing and leading a best-in-class life science sector technical services capability in support of CBRE global life science accounts, supporting solutions and technical sales, and providing account technical support.

What You’ll Do: 

Technical Services Leadership

  • Embodied in CBRE’s proprietary “CBRE Shield” program, lead the development and capabilities of the life science sector platform programs, products, tools, key initiatives, and continuous improvement.

  • Provide single point of contact for CBRE Corporate initiatives, programs, and tools that affect or otherwise impact the Life Science Sector

  • As part of the Sector Executive Team, act as a key business partner to develop global technical strategies, identify needed resources, and flow down to tactical initiatives and process improvements.

  • Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values. Negotiate with senior management, customers, and external parties of divergent interests to reach an agreement of strategic importance while being guided by the business segment and the organization's functional strategy.

  • Conceptualize new methods, techniques, processes, and standards across job disciplines or functions.

  • Partner with national and global senior management to develop and implement strategies that optimize operational performance and support the business.

  • Perform routine technical excellence audits and assessments at global account sites to identify areas of risk and focus on areas of performance improvement.

  • Develop and sponsor a cadre of third-party technical consultants and service providers to provide additional resources to address account needs on an as requested basis

Technical Sales SME

  • Support development of global facility management service delivery models and solutions.

  • Develop presentations and support sales and solutions team for facility management pursuits.

  • Function as senior technical SME to support sales and executive level client interactions, including engineering and maintenance, quality and compliance, EHS, and Energy and Sustainability.

Account Technical Support

  • Lead and enable connection and collaboration of sector platforms, including EHS, Engineering & Maintenance, Energy and Sustainability, and Quality & Compliance to respond to emergent account requests and needs.

  • Provide technical support to sites on an as-requested basis, including performance of root cause analysis, development of corrective action plans, and provision of technical support.

  • Identify, document, and enable implementation of best practices and lessons learned across all global accounts.

  • Apply deep knowledge of multiple disciplines, broad industry knowledge, and commercial awareness. Drive financial and functional performance within disciplines and across businesses.

  • Direct the resolution of highly complex or unusual business problems by applying advanced critical thinking.

What You’ll Need: 

  • Technical Bachelor's Degree with >15 years of relevant experience in the Life Sciences industry or highly regulated, complex operating environment.

  • Experience in Life Science offices, R&D sites, and Manufacturing sites is preferred.

  • Direct experience in the areas of engineering management, program development, sales, technical consulting, staffing, selection, training, development, and mentoring, is preferred.

  • Ability to exchange sensitive, complicated, and difficult information, convey performance expectations, and handle problems.

  • Leadership skills to motivate the team to achieve broad operational targets with impacts on own job discipline, multiple job disciplines, and department.

  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.

  • Expert organizational skills with an unrivaled inquisitive mindset.

CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate’s education, training, and experience. The minimum salary for the Senior Technical Director position is $230000 annually and the maximum salary for the Senior Technical Director position is $260,000 annually. The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience. Successful candidates will also be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on CBRE’s applicable benefit program.
