CDM Smith Senior Traffic Engineer in Boston, Massachusetts
As a member of this team, you will contribute to CDM Smith's success by;
-Working with our fantastic team as a Project Technical Leader on traffic design projects and pursuits in the Northeast.
-Will be responsible for the design of traffic signals/signal systems through the PS&E submissions, design of pavement marking, striping, and signage plans, safety analysis – crash studies, crash modification factors, mitigation analysis, traffic impact studies associated with land development projects, corridor studies, freeway/interchange capacity analysis, roundabout analysis using SIDRA, traffic simulation and modeling – Synchro/SimTraffic, VISSIM, and peer review of traffic studies conducted by others.
-Responsible for coordination of the technical content of projects including driving the technical vision of the end product, ensuring the technical accuracy of the work product, and ensuring the right technical skillsets are on the project at the correct time.
-Developing and mentoring technical project staff.
-Attends conferences, symposia, etc. to improve the visibility of the firm's products and services in collaboration with applicable sales staff.
Senior Traffic Engineer
CDM Smith Employment Type:
-Bachelor's degree in Civil, transportation, or Structural Engineering or related discipline.
-Professional engineering (PE) license.
-7 years of related experience. Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands.
-PE in Connecticut & the ability to get reciprocity in Massachusetts.
-Strong background with CTDOT & Municipal design.
-MassDOT and Municipal planning agencies experience a plus.
-Working knowledge in AutoCAD and Microstation/OpenRoads.
-Strong knowledge of the MUTCD.
