Overview

GovCIO is currently hiring for Sr. Product Manager to directly oversee a legacy application modernization into VA.gov and indirectly oversee two additional VRE PSES applications. This position will be full time and fully remote.

Responsibilities

Creates integrated project plans for contract deliverables and new products in development projects. Manages a project team comprised of a multidisciplinary staff. Reviews, manages and controls status of projects; manages schedules and prepares status reports. Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives. Develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with team members and line managers. Reports to a Program Manager.

• Responsible for the direct oversight of legacy system modernization, including the supervisory responsibilities for multiple lead roles.

• Responsible for leading the team in requirements gathering, PI Planning, Migration Planning etc. and ensuring completion of contract deliverables.

• Ensure Agile/Scrum techniques are being utilized and the project is managed following an Agile Methodology.

• Responsible for proactive risk management and ensuring all risks are escalated to the appropriate persons.

• Engage with stakeholders at all levels, creating tactics to establish and maintain appropriate stakeholder engagement.

• Engage with the team to ensure they stay motivated, proactive, and focused.

• Ensure organized change management throughout the life of the project.

• Ensure all project needs are met and escalate blockers to program management.

• Responsible for indirect oversight of two additional applications, managed by Project/Product Managers.

• Participate in interviewing/hiring of replacement or new employees, where appropriate.

• Responsible for the career growth and performance evaluations of two direct reporting Project/Product Managers.

Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience:

• Bachelor's with 8+ years (or commensurate experience)

• Experience leading a team in a VA.gov modernization effort

• Experience managing both Scrum/Agile and OCTO project management environments

• Experience working with customer to establish requirements, PI Planning and seeing a project move from infancy to realization

• Strong problem solving skills

• Competence in Microsoft Suite

• Strong verbal and written skills

• Positive attitude and willingness to step in, where needed

Preferred Skills and Experience:

• Experience working with the VA

• Experiencing overseeing multiple projects simultaneously

• Experience supporting program goals

• Experience collaborating with other project leaders

Clearance Required: Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance (Tier 4 high risk)

Posted Pay Range

The posted pay range, if referenced, reflects the range expected for this position at the commencement of employment, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and internal equity. The total compensation package for this position may also include other compensation elements, to be discussed during the hiring process. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the GovCIO reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, GovCIO or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

Posted Salary Range

USD $130,000.00 - USD $145,000.00 /Yr.
