Western Kentucky University, a member of Conference USA and Football Bowl Subdivision NCAA member institution, seeks to hire one individual for the position of Part-time Assistant Athletics Trainer working with sport assignment that is to be determined. This part-time position is a twelve-month position running approximately June 2024 through June 2025. This individual will report to the Sr Executive Director - Sports Medicine & Student-Athlete Welfare. The successful candidate must be available for weekend work and travel.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

The following duties are customary for this position, but are not to be construed as all-inclusive. Duties may be added, deleted, and assigned based on management discretion and institutional needs.

  • Assist with assigned sport, including weight training, practices, scrimmages and games

  • Responsible for keeping accurate and current medical records on all athletes

  • Assist with scheduling and transporting athletes for doctor's appointments and medical procedures

  • Assist with the care, diagnosis and rehabilitation of student-athletes

  • Assist in supervision of athletic training room operations

  • Assist with packing for home and away games

  • Other duties as assigned

Knowledge and Skills Considered Essential for Success:

  • Must be self-motivated

  • Must demonstrate attention to detail and accuracy

  • Excellent organization, interpersonal, and communication skills

  • Computer proficiency

  • Must have a commitment to following NCAA, Conference USA, and Western Kentucky University policies and procedures

    Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Must be a National Certified Athletic Trainer in good standing (ATC)

  • Ability to work evening and weekend hours

    Additional Information:

Hourly Rate: $16.03
