Job Title: PSNS-Planner/Estimator

Job Description

As a PSNS-Planner/Estimator, your main duty will be to review Automated Work Requests (AWRs) and write specifications and changes for work items. You will also develop detailed and accurate labor and material estimates for shipboard/shop work and repairs to be accomplished on Government and Commercial vessels. This involves using drawings and specifications as well as on-site ship checks for interference and access problems. Part of your role will also be to solicit and evaluate subcontractor price quotations and create NMD availabilities, Work Specifications, and Estimates. You will also participate in job site inspections and ship checks to verify technical information and prepare work breakdown structures to support proposal submittals and negotiations.

Hard Skills

  • Reviewing Automated Work Requests (AWRs)

  • Writing specifications and changes for work items

  • Developing labor and material estimates for shipboard/shop work

  • Soliciting and evaluating subcontractor price quotations

  • Creating NMD availabilities, Work Specifications, and Estimates

  • Participating in job site inspections and ship checks

Soft Skills

  • Ability to interface with Subcontracts Group to resolve technical and schedule issues

  • Ability to work closely with Production and the person to ensure all information is represented appropriately

  • Ability to resolve technical and schedule issues with contracts, project and production management

Job Type

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 90 Day(s).

This is a fully on-site position in Bremerton, Washington.
