The Dannon Company Integrated Work Systems (IWS) Manager in Bridgeton, New Jersey

We have an opening for an Integrated Work Systems (IWS) Manager based in Bridgeton, NJ!

The IWS Manager has overall responsibility for the implementation, change processes, and sustainability of Integrated Work Systems (IWS) at the plant. The IWS Manager is the most knowledgeable IWS person at the site and will facilitate the process. This incumbent will have strong technical knowledge of IWS and excellent communication skills to coach and advise the site leadership team on IWS processes. The IWS Manager will function as the business ally for the site plant director and the site Leadership team. This role is a key member of the plant leadership team, as well as a coach and a teacher on the floor.

Responsibilities include

  • Owns and manages the IWS implementation and program for the site ensuring effectiveness of change management, adoption of systems and culture, integration across functions, and delivery of all result areas to ensure linkage with business performance and overall results.
  • Acts as an internal partner and daily consultant for the Site Leaders, Department Managers and Teams to lead, define, develop and coach IWS activities to drive improvement in all KPI's
  • Identifies key opportunities for process improvement and partners with process owners and business trios to lead activities to deliver sustainable and repeatable change and improve business results.
  • Develops and prepares metrics and reports to drive action and change through the IWS program
  • Conducts regular and periodic audits and health checks of the site program
  • Facilitates the development of action plans to variances as identified through the audit process
  • Coaches and facilitates the site strategic planning process in collaboration with the site leadership team and ensures consistent adherence to the process including monthly scorecard reporting and gap analysis
  • As IWS develops at the site, the IWS Manager is a partner, coach, and mentor to site pillar leaders and teams in EHS, Quality, Autonomous Maintenance, Planned Maintenance, Organization, and Education & Training.
  • As IWS develops at the site, the IWS Manager owns and manages the Focused Improvement Pillar at the site defining the problem-solving capability, tools, and strategy across the site as well as coaching the execution and implementing countermeasures and driving action plans to resolution
  • Makes issues and problems visible for leaders to see and take action; challenges and questions the team; leads daily consultative review with teams and/or individuals in small group activities
  • Supports and aids in leading problem-solving efforts to improve safety, quality, and eliminate waste/cost at the plant
  • Looks ahead for the capabilities that will be needed in the next 6 to 18 months, works closely with the Site Leaders to ensure the Master Plan is on track, proactively engages with teams to ensure continuous progress
  • Responsible for IWS Promotion, Communication & Education in order to increase IWS understanding and accelerate progress across the site
  • Ensures work processes are in place to drive reapplication and one common standard
  • Works closely with IWS leaders at other plants to reapply best practices across the plant and shares broadly across the network IWS team to improve standards and guidelines for company IWS implementation
  • Manage the site productivity process and pipeline to deliver savings vs. commitment
  • Facilitate and prepares for site VIP visits
  • Other duties as assigned

KEY ACCOUNTABILITY

  • Acts as the daily consultant to the Site Leader, Pillar Owners and teams/individuals in their small group activities and ensure linkage of the effort with business results;
  • Look ahead for what capabilities will be needed in the next 6 to 18 months, works closely with the Site Leader to ensure the Master Plan is on track, intervenes as required by involving the appropriate people to ensure continuous progress;
  • Provides publicity/promotion, general education and other communication that increase IWS understanding and accelerate progress across the site/organization;
  • Ensures the site is receiving effective guidance/coaching and leads on best-in-class systems/tools for reapplication

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum four-year degree in or related operations / process improvement experience
  • Minimum of 5 years working experience working in manufacturing or other related industry in operations or continuous improvement
  • TPM experience and knowledge and practical application of AM, PM, FI, Education & Training systems and tools
  • Experience leading problem solving and process improvement efforts required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of IWS work processes and tools; CI; Lean; and TPM tools
  • Knowledge of principles and methods for process improvement
  • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership, production methods, and coordination of people and resources
  • Lean, TPM, or Six Sigma certification a plus
  • Know the business needs of the organization and help shape the CBN
  • Master Planning: Link all to CBN, ZLJ, VSM
  • Lead the IWS phases and pillar assessments as the plant grows in IWS
