Kelly Services Controls Engineer in Bristol, Connecticut

Kelly® Engineering has an exciting direct hire Controls Engineer role with a well-established company experiencing dynamic growth in the Hartford, CT area. This role offers the opportunity to work on exciting projects in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on innovation and quality.

Controls Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and implement control systems for automated machinery and systems.

  • Program PLCs, HMIs, and motion control devices (Allen Bradley)

  • Develop control panel layouts and wiring diagrams using CAD software.

  • Conduct on-site commissioning, troubleshooting, and debugging of control systems.

  • Ensure compliance with relevant electrical and safety standards (NEC, CE, UL).

  • Provide technical support and training to customers during system start-up and throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Work closely with project managers to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.

  • Participate in customer meetings to define project requirements, concepts, and solutions.

Controls Engineer Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience as a Controls Engineer in system integration or automation.

  • Proficiency with PLC programming

  • Experience with HMI programming and motion control devices (VFDs, Servos).

  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

  • Willingness to travel for system installations and support- 20% primarily in New England
