The Information Technology (IT) department plays a pivotal role in accelerating the company’s success by leading the company on a digital transformation journey. In this transformation, IT collaboratively partners with stakeholders to gain insights into their work, challenges, and needs to deliver digital solutions and keep solutions performing well. These solutions enable automation, delight users, and equip users to perform more value-add activities.

You will get the opportunity to take on new projects with the focus of working towards solutions for our technology security needs as well as to gain visibility to other parts of our IT infrastructure.

As a Network Security Engineer, you will need to:

• Work effectively as a team member across multiple IT Infrastructure disciplines including Security, Server, and Network.

• Perform analysis of IT security needs across server and network disciplines. Contribute to the design, integration, and installation of hardware and software.

• Approach work with a continuous improvement philosophy mindset with a goal of working towards removal of manual work, increasing automation capabilities and efficiencies.

• Work within a team capacity to support security areas including:

• Network Access Control (NAC) Solutions

• SDWAN Technologies

• Remote Access Technologies

• Certificate Services

• Network Load Balancing Technologies

• Web Application Firewalls

• Security Service Edge Technologies

• Network Monitoring Technologies

• Virtual Private Network (VPN) Technologies

• Next Generation Firewalls

• Understand new security technologies and align with corporate security standards and goals.

• Have strong documentation skills.

• Participate in Infrastructure on-call rotation (approximately one week every two to three months).

  Where will I be working?

  Daktronics offers the flexibility to work from a U.S. home or Daktronics location. This opportunity is open to U.S. based candidates with preference given to individuals in the Brookings or Sioux Falls, South Dakota area. Exact working hours are flexible, but this position will be based on working during regular business hours in the Central time zone.

  Qualifications

  What do I need to be qualified?

• A bachelor’s degree is required. Preferably in Cyber Operations, Networking or Information Systems, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or similar degrees.

• Proven, top notch customer service in IT Infrastructure (Security, Servers, Network) background.

• Experience in architecting, maintaining, and auditing network security systems is beneficial.

• Project management experience required.

• Strong interpersonal skills showing collaboration with others and building effective relationships.

• Strong self-motivation and ability to work independently and collaboratively on a team.

• Continued willingness and desire to learn and be flexible with an evolving workload.

• Strong organizational skills where you have managed multiple and changing priorities with accuracy.

• Commitment to following policies and procedures and maintaining confidentiality.

• Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Fluent in English, written and verbal.

• Ability to travel by air and ground. Valid driver’s license and good driving record. Motor vehicle records will be checked.

• Effectively exercise discretion and independent judgment.
