We are excited to offer a full-time position for a Financial Lines Underwriter specializing in the Financial Institutions (FI) division within our vibrant and growing BeLux Financial Lines team based in Brussels and in Luxembourg.

As a Financial Lines Underwriter for Financial Institutions, you will have the opportunity to:

  • join a market-leading Financial Institutions (FI) team, managing a large and diverse portfolio that includes Professional Indemnity, Directors & Officers, and Crime exposures across the Belgian and Luxembourg markets.

  • collaborate closely with fellow FI team members and internal stakeholders to implement the FI strategy in Belgium and Luxembourg, ensuring a profitable portfolio and identifying adequate growth opportunities.

  • contribute to achieving financial and operational targets for Financial Institutions and the broader Financial Lines team, while delivering the necessary reporting and data analysis requested by management.

  • enhance AIG’s visibility and strengthen relationships in the local market by participating in external presentations, training sessions, and meetings on a regular basis in Luxembourg and Belgium.

  • independently manage prestigious accounts in the SME space as well as major accounts, providing efficient service to AIG clients by embracing technology-driven solutions.

  • engage in a culture of continuous learning, utilizing various opportunities to expand knowledge in your field and other Financial Lines products, while also supporting your colleagues.

  • drive growth by analysing risks, issuing quotes, underwriting assigned risks in Financial Institutions, and collaborating with the team to develop new products and facilitate cross-selling opportunities.

  • adhere to compliance and underwriting guidelines, setting a standard for excellence and promoting best practices across the team.

    What we’re looking for:

  • Master degree in (Applied) Economics or Law or equivalent through experience

  • Client-oriented attitude

  • Analytical skills

  • Commitment to, and concern for service quality, performing ‘first time right’

  • Courtesy, empathy and a helpful attitude dealing with external and internal clients

  • Capable of fostering a positive and productive team ethos

  • Stress resistant: able to work in a ‘busy environment’

  • Fluent in Dutch, French and English

  • An affinity to IT/ technology to embrace (new) technologies and the implementation thereof.
