Job Description Summary

The New Nuclear business is one of the 4 Steam Power P&Ls. The New Nuclear business includes the nuclear new build business globally and nuclear services businesses outside of the Americas.

EDF is in the process of acquiring GE Steam Power’s nuclear activities, pending customary conditions including regulatory approvals. This M&A project will create an opportunity for Business Transformation. In a context of transformation and change at scale, the Sr Finance and Tax Manager role is key to support this change and position GE Steam Power’s Nuclear business for success across the globe. This business is in total covering approximately 3400 employees in 16 Countries.

Responsible for driving technical accounting compliance, financial and operational internal controls, process simplification, and operational excellence to deliver accurate actual financial reporting and analysis for our entity in Romania. Interprets internal and external business challenges and recommends the implementation of best practices to improve products, processes or services. Stays informed of industry trends that may influence work.

Job Description

Main responsibilities:

  • Responsible for general accounting and specialized policy application & process administration for all cycles including inventory, revenue recognition, receivables/payables, intercompany, etc. Understands, interprets and ensures execution of applicable Enterprise Standards, SOP and Process Maps to deliver globally competitive financial process/accounting services.

  • Review all month-end closing activities including general ledger accounts, balance sheet accounts and overhead cost allocation.

  • Accountable for the month-end close process, constantly reviewing procedures while eliminating inefficiencies.

  • Lead the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, together with the help of external providers.

  • Responsible for filing the half year and annual financial statements to the fiscal authority platform using the digital certificate of the legal entity.

  • Ensure on-time delivery of the annual audits together with the Statutory and Internal Auditors. Support the Company to be SOX compliant.

  • Oversee the Tax compliance in co-ordination with External Consultant, monthly filling of desired returns and assessment.

  • Preparing and submitting the Corporate Income Tax return, its appendices, and all legal related items

  • Calculating the monthly/quarterly tax provisions for closing purposes

  • Tax audits management in coordination with Tax Team

  • Lead the compliance with tax and accounting rules, as well as any internal audits, leading to legal entity conformity.

  • Requires strong commercial awareness and will influence the development of strategy within own area, including control of resources and influences policy formulation.

  • To provide directional, financial input to the Board, which will contribute to the company’s long term financial health and growth.

  • Participate in the development of the entities strategic plan.

  • Creates strategies to manage financial risk within the business.

  • Ensure timeliness and accuracy of financial and management reporting data for bankers, investors and company’s board of directors.

  • Responsible for the team's ability to achieve service, quality and timeliness of goals. Work is subject to functional policy objectives. Regularly advises management in the function and/or in the business. Has an influential role in decision making about important subjects. High levels of evaluative judgment are required to achieve outcomes required.

  • Uses high level of judgment to make decisions and handle complex tasks or problems that impact the function. Has ability to assess quality of information given and ask pertinent questions to stakeholders. Able to offer new solutions to problems outside of set parameters and is able to construct and implement recommendations. Uses multiple internal and some external sources outside of own function to help arrive at a conclusion.

  • To ensure that in-depth knowledge of all the latest Stat and Tax legislative changes are obtained and these are communicated to all stakeholders about the consequences of these changes. Makes sure and coordinates the update of systems and processes to ensure conformity with the new regulations.

Required qualifications :

  • Significant experience in the Finance & Accounting Operations.

  • Qualified Chartered Accountant and 5 to 7 years of experience in audit, consolidation, and bookkeeping of a large company, both Statutory and group accounting.

  • Work experience in SAP environment.

  • Experience in both Direct & Indirect taxation.

  • Fluent in Romanian and English.
