Job purpose
Sanofi Business Services (SBS), one of the 4 pillars of Sanofi’s Business Transformation organization, is setting up a new captive Business Services centre in Budapest to provide Finance & Accounting (Account-to-Report, Customer-Invoicing-to-Cash) as well as Employee oriented (Employee Experience) services.
With respect to Account to Report (A2R) the Business Services Center will be covering the following areas of the process
Assets Management
Tax Accounting
Treasury accounting
GL accounts closing and reporting
Interco CoE
The purpose of this role is to
Deliver tax accounting services to SBO
Manage the accounting and reporting of tax accounts
Perform, supervise tax calculations including deferred tax and prepare tax returns
Manage external relations
Address operational issues and follow through to resolution in an effective and timely manner
Deliver, monitor operational KPIs and comply with Sanofi policies and guidelines
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives
The Tax Senior Accountant reports to Tax Manager and works closely with Finance (Controlling, Treasury, Tax, Internal Control...), other SBS departments, Customer Service and the A2R team.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver tax accounting services to SBO
Reconcile tax accounts, analyze and solve discrepancies
Perform, tax calculations including deferred tax and prepare tax returns
Manage external relations including tax authorities’ queries or audits
Contribute to business reviews
Execute in compliance of processes, transactions and reports with Sanofi accounting policies, internal control guidelines and audit / SOX requirements
Complete all activities as per the global Core Model and operational KPIs
Develop expert level knowledge of the activities in scope as well as local knowledge of entities in scope and become a super-user
Pro-actively anticipate operational issues and coach junior analysts
Build, document and transfer A2R Core Model process knowledge (Level 6/7) relating to tax accounting activities
Continuous improvement
Identify process improvement opportunities through elimination of redundant activities
Participate in process automation initiatives and ensure seamless adoption and transition
Identify existing process gap(s) and possible improvement opportunities

Pharmacovigilance
Identifies, collects, and reports to the Affiliate Pharmacovigilance Unit, according to the relevant local Pharmacovigilance procedures, all the adverse events as well as all the safety information concerning the Sanofi Group’s products, within one working day.
Quality
If the employee receives notice related at quality complaint for Sanofi portfolio products (including medical devices and supplements) shall report it to the Quality Department in accordance with local procedure, within 1(one) business day from receipt.
Compliance
Acts in line with all ethical & compliance rules of the Group
Assesses financial and business risks. Critical risk report to line (n+1 manager) in case of significant risk
Acts as a role model, in line with all ethical & compliance rules of the Group and promotes the highest ethical & compliance standards
Takes full responsibility for ensuring that corporate ethical standards, facilitating access to training and information, enabling a culture of ethical leadership and ensuring there are no compliance breaches through intent or misunderstandings/lack of knowledge
Takes personal accountability for understanding how to work in an ethical and compliant way
Highlights and, if necessary, escalates the actions or behaviors of internal and external people when they are not appropriate
Asks questions to colleagues, peers or manager when not sure of the appropriate way to complete tasks, to find a solution and helps others when required
Pro-actively seeks to understand and find ways to develop understanding of the Sanofi code of ethics, local relevant associations’ code of practice and internal control standards
It is mandatory for the employee to attend the organized ethics and compliance trainings, to perform the assigned eLearning modules and to fully comply to all Group standards in this regard
HSE (Health, Safety & Environmental) Responsibilities
Comply with all Sanofi HSE Corporate Policy & Requirements as well as local procedures and traffic regulations
Respects the occupational health procedures and follow the instruction given by the occupational doctors
Promptly reports to the direct manager, local HSE and HR, any occupational accident, incident, near miss, illness, potential or real dangerous or emergency situations which may have consequences on the safety of the working places or the health whether it be a bodily injury or car damage and participate in the investigations with the objective of introducing measures to prevent reoccurrences and ensure that risks are adequately assessed and mitigated
Inspects the working premises in his/her responsibility and proposes measures to correct, reduce or eliminate the dangerous situations
Participates in training and simulation exercises regarding accidental environment contamination, fire prevention and other emergencies

The evaluation process is defined, in accordance with the Company rules and labour regulations registered in the Company’s Human resources performance Management system (Workday)and respecting the company strategic priorities.

The quantitative & qualitative objectives and priorities (group, country and/or individual performance indicators) are discussed, set and mutually agreed upon each year between direct Manager and Employee.

About you
Education and experience
Graduate degree in accounting or finance (essential)
Good and proven experience in GL/TAX accounting preferably in an international multicultural environment (essential)
Fluent in English (essential)
Knowledge of other European languages (advantageous)
Expected skills

Hands on expertise in corporate tax accounting and activities (essential)
Knowledge of GL accounting and reporting (essential)
Experience in working within a Business Services organization (advantageous)
Good business acumen (advantageous)
Strong problem solving, deductive and analytical skills (advantageous)
Technical
Knowledge of Microsoft Office and expertise of MS Excel (essential)
Hands-on experience of SAP Accounting Modules (essential) and other accounting related IT tools (e.g., Trintech Cadency, Blackline, etc.) (advantageous)
