IBM Cyber Security Analyst in Budapest, Hungary

In this role, you'll work in our IBM Client Innovation Center (CIC), where we deliver deep technical and industry expertise to a wide range of public and private sector clients around the world. These centers offer our clients locally-based skills and technical expertise to drive innovation and adoption of new technology.

Your Role and Responsibilities

You will join IBM Security Services which is a division of IBM Consulting (https://youtu.be/lr1kcrysyzc) , responsible for delivering security services to its large global customers, alongside major digital transformation projects in the application and cloud domains. You will join a team of 20 + Security Analysts who are looking after to monitor, detect and respond to cyber threats. This is an excellent opportunity to learn and apply cybersecurity fundamentals using leading edge tools. You will:

  • be a part of day to day activities of the Security Operations Center (SOC)

  • improve the cybersecurity posture by identifying, verifying, and understanding cyber events

  • be collecting, analyzing, and correlating security events and using data to enable recommendation of mitigation of potential incidents

  • identify events that pose a threat to the confidentiality, availability and integrity of information or systems

  • be performing event and incident tracking using ticket management system

  • be providing event and incident operational and executive reporting

  • be supporting the 24x7x365 SOC by providing a view of security events and network activity

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Knowledge of operating systems (Linux, Windows)

  • Knowledge of computer network basics

  • Programming language: Python, C, C++ or other

  • Good English language proficiency

  • Very good analytical and problem solving skills

  • Openness to learn new technologies

  • Good communication skills

  • Team work attitude

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Bachelor's Degree in either of these disciplines: Computer Science, Automation, Electronics, Electrical, Telecommunications, Computer Engineering

  • Knowledge of either of SIEM tools - Sentinel, Qradar or Splunk

  • Experience in one of the domains: Identity and Access, Data Security, Network & Endpoint Security, Cloud Security, Security Operation Centre, etc.

  • At least 1 year of professional working experience
