Position Summary:
Computational Anatomist – Department of Pathology and Anatomical Sciences (“PAS”) (https://medicine.buffalo.edu/departments/pathology.html) is seeking to hire a tenure track faculty member at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor.
The successful candidate will:
Develop and maintain a funded research portfolio
Engage in a teaching program designed to support the missions of the Department ( PAS ) and School (UB)
Research:
Must have research experience in anatomy and anatomical sciences, including application of computational tools and methodologies
Working knowledge of computer programming, structural modeling, machine learning, and artificial intelligence (AI), etc.
Strong candidates will endorse and embrace cross-disciplinary team science approaches to computational anatomy
Teaching:
Teaching of gross anatomy to professional and graduate students is a requirement for this position
Candidates will be expected to help in the design and implementation of a new computational anatomy course that focuses on the fusion of cadaveric and virtual models and leverages these approaches to support the education of graduate and professional students
