The Specialist Engineer position encompass working across the Technology delivery lifecycle including inception, analysis, construction, testing, release and ongoing management of a product or service in a pod within a Technology team. In this role you will be required to continually enhance your skills within a number of specialisms which include front end and back-end development, security, testing, and operational support.You will be part of a cross functional product team delivering products into production in ever shortening cycles and helping to drive the continuous improvement of our processes, tooling and engineering practices.

As our Specialist Engineer you will:

  • Be responsible for translating detailed designs into robust, scalable and reusable solutions that deliver exceptional user experience driven by the product teams

  • Use the latest enterprise application technologies, processes and tools to deliver frequently, safely and efficiently

  • Help build and run HSBC’s staff and online banking services, transforming complex business processes into simplified workflows using efficient orchestration, build responsive & intuitive front end screens tied with microservices platform

For this role, HSBC targets a pay range between $100,400.00 and $150,600.00

The final fixed pay offer will depend on the candidate and a number of variables, including but not limited to, role responsibilities, skill set, depth of experience and education, licensing/certification requirements, internal relativity, and specific work location.

Qualifications

You´ll likely have the following qualifications to succeed in this role:

  • 10 years experience overall as a full stack engineer

  • Familiar with at least a couple of different languages, enabling front end and back end development and well-versed in at least one

  • Experienced with continuous delivery practices and how they affect product quality and delivery

  • Experienced with a range of agile practices and understand how and why they work

  • DevOps experience so you will need to look beyond pure programming and get involved with the deployment and operation of the software we build

  • Collaborate with others, and you’ll give thought about how software fits into the bigger picture

  • DevOps processes and experience

  • Solid understanding of lean and agile methods of software delivery

  • Agile methodologies – Scrum, Kanban

  • Experience Camunda Workflow Engine 7.14 , BPMN2.0, Java 8 , APIs(RESTFUL), SpringBoot, Spring Experience with Integration, JPA, Hibernate, Groovy, Jenkins (creating jobs for build/deployment),

  • Experience with Maven, IDEs(Eclipse/Spring Tool Suite/ Rational/IntelliJ/Visual Studio), Postman,

  • AWS experience with knowledge of AWS API Gateway, Cloudwatch and other common AWS services
