Summary

The Tool & Die Maker will use drawings, sketches, concept models, etc. to determine project specifications. You will be required to set up and operate machine tools, finish and adjust parts, and test tools to ensure quality standards are met. You will also make use of your outstanding mechanical and mathematical skills while crafting tools and dies. This position is excellent for anyone with exceptional technical expertise and a positive team-oriented attitude looking to work for a company where they can grow and hone their skills

  • RegularWorkSchedule:

  • First Shift: 5:00 am to 3:30 pm (Monday through Thursday)

  • Overtime as required

Essential Duties

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Set up and operate conventional or computer numerically controlled machine tools suchaslathes,millingmachines,grindersandWireEDMmachines,toproduceparts to prescribed dimensions and finishes.

  • Responsibilities will include constructing, altering and repairing a variety of tools, metal stamping dies, jigs, fixtures, and gauges to close tolerances.

  • Read and interpret blueprints and sketches.

  • Develop and design new tools and dies using computer-aided design software, Mastercam experience is a plus.

  • Select materials to be used from a range of metals and alloys, based on properties such as hardness, durability, and application.

  • Haveagoodworkingknowledgeofavarietyofprogressivedieswithastrongabilityto troubleshoot. Must perform well in a team-centered Safety First environment.

Physical Demands

  • Physical ability and stamina required to perform diversified maintenance work in a manufacturing plant workplace setting. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

  • HS Diploma with 5 years of manufacturing experience and a completed Apprenticeship Certification.

Under This Roof, We Also Value

  • Experience with Lock Tag Verify to remove all energy sources from equipment.

  • Experience working with both industrial pneumatic and hydraulic systems.

  • Technicalskillsreflectinganunderstandingoftheoreticalconceptsaswellas practical application.

  • Good communications skills: verbal, listening, reading and writing.

  • Strong work ethic including attendance, safety and performance and a desire for self-improvement.

  • Haveapositiveattitudeandbemotivated,responsible,andtrustworthy.

  • Demonstrate enthusiasm for “hands-on” work in a manufacturing plant environment.

  • Willingness to seek assistance and collaborate with support personnel.

  • Demonstrate good teamwork in supporting all plant goals.
