This position is responsible for servicing and maintaining all process control devices at all BED Generating Assets.. This position is also responsible for the overall operational duties of the Winooski One Hydro Station.\ \ Union Affiliation:International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW)\ Pay Grade 13:\$28.33 - \$46.44 Hourly\ \ Please note: BED is looking to hire one Engineering Production Technician. Applications from the Engineering Production Technician I and Engineering Production Technician II will all be considered to fill this opening.

Essential Job Functions

  • Maintain, calibrate, and repair all process control devices at all BED Generating Assets,, including but not limited to: control temperature transmitters and indicators, positioners, transducers, controllers, and recorders, as well as many hydraulic, pneumatic, digital, and analog control systems.
  • Conduct routine inspections and tests of operating instruments and controls.
  • Maintain all appropriate records for control equipment.
  • Maintain documentation established by manufacturers, owners and/or government agencies on instrumentation.
  • Maintain all meters and tools used for instrument calibration in accordance with the National Bureau of Standards specifications.
  • Contact vendors regarding tools, spare parts, and supplies to maintain inventory in support of instrumentation.
  • Maintain and test on a regular basis the metering systems to meet quality control standards.
  • Work closely with operating and maintenance personnel to determine problems and resolve them with minimum impact on operations.
  • Maintains, tests, and calibrates portable personal alarm detectors used for the Confined Space Entry Program.
  • Works closely with the Generation personnel to design, purchase, and install plant modifications or upgrades.
  • Performequipment inspections and preventive maintenancefunctions in cooperation with other Generation personnel.
  • Perform the Gas Turbine (GT) on call responsibility on a rotating basis by responding to after hour callouts to qualify the GT to participate in the ISO-New England Forward Reserve
  • Takes lead role on trouble shootingand repair of electronic controls.
  • Comprehend the operation and controls of complex systems such as the Regenerative Selective Catalytic Reduction device.
  • Assists with turbinerepresentative and Generation personnel during Steam Turbine Evaluation Program (STEP) and outages for repair and troubleshooting issues.
  • Provides technical instructions and operational recommendationsto station Staff. This includes, but not limited to, annual station overhauls, special projects, etc.
  • Maintains maintenance and records of machinery.
  • Responsible for low and high-pressuresteam trap maintenance.
  • Unloads railcars as needed.
  • Gives technical tours to general public asrequired
  • Substitute for the Station Operator, Auxiliary and Yard Worker positions as needed. Performs and trains other staff on the duties of BEDs Power Production Technician related to Winooski One Hydro Station.
  • Performs BEDs Gas Turbine Operator L1 and L2 qualified duties.
  • Provides back-up for maintenance of Continuous Emissions Monitoring System.
  • Instructs station staff on plant Generation operating systems, use of technical manuals, station operating system software, and technical repairs.
  • Assists the Supervisor of Plant Maintenance with developing 5-year maintenance and capital plans.
