Description

We are seeking an outgoing and experienced Medical Front Desk Specialist to join our client's team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of exceptional customer service, administrative proficiency, and a background in managing the front desk operations of a specialty clinic. This role is crucial in ensuring a smooth and efficient patient experience, from appointment scheduling to check-out.

Responsibilities:

  • Greet patients and visitors with a welcoming and professional demeanor.

  • Manage appointment scheduling, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.

  • Coordinate patient check-ins and check-outs, verifying insurance information and collecting payments as needed.

  • Answer phone calls promptly and assist patients with inquiries, appointments, and general information.

  • Maintain electronic medical records (EMR) accurately and confidentially.

  • Collaborate with clinical staff to facilitate patient flow and address any immediate concerns.

  • Ensure waiting areas are clean, organized, and welcoming for patients.

  • Handle patient inquiries and requests with empathy, professionalism, and efficiency.

  • Verify and update patient demographics, insurance information, and medical history.

  • Process billing and insurance claims, following up on any discrepancies or issues.

  • Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, and managing correspondence.

    Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; certification in Medical Office Administration preferred.

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a medical front desk role, preferably in a specialty clinic setting.

  • Proficient in medical terminology, EMR systems, and insurance verification processes.

  • Exceptional customer service skills with a friendly and approachable attitude.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and efficiency.

  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality guidelines.

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment.

  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and patient needs.
