Job Description
Application Engineering within GE Power Conversion is the role of an individual or team to provide any technical support necessary, as and when required, in the pursuit of order placement.
The role is highly technical and multi-disciplinary requiring a sound understanding power systems, control systems and so on.
This particular position is to serve regional market especially marine and Power/Industry segment. This position is not only requiring technical skill for application engineer but also requiring strong support for sales i.e. customer interface, building up sales strategy together with sales manager, marketing initiatives etc.
Expectation for this position would be to :
Provide technical sales support to Sales functions
Receive customer requirements specifications, interpret and subsequently derive our best solution based upon our portfolio of structured products and solutions
Prepare our technical proposal including deviations to customer’s requirement
Provide technical expertise to Sales and Commercial Operations in selecting, implementing, and developing competitive solutions
Estimate GE equipment and system performance, hardware, and price for budgetary estimates
Assess competitive system performance and hardware evaluation throughout the entire bid process
Respond to various technical questions regarding products and systems solutions
Work with customers (both internal & external) to define system requirements, physical interfaces, and adjust hardware configurations to optimize our solutions to suit.
Assess equipment compliance with Rule and Regulation as applicable to the project
Identify technical risks and work with the central engineering to mitigate
Qualifications / Requirements :
Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent major) with a minimum of 5 years' experience
Experience with electrical system applications at least one or more areas : Marine power system, power generation and power distribution
Desired Characteristics
Capability to build up sales strategy for marine and P&I segment collaborating with sales / business leader.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Solid verbal and written Korean & English
Strong presentation / interpersonal skills and communication capability.
Strong PC skills including standard Microsoft applications & Matlab
Must be able to work independently and be self-motivated
Solid understanding about equipment selection process of industries including shipbuilding companies and owner companies.
Must demonstrate a high degree of personal and professional ethics and integrity
