Job Description:

Position Summary:

Responsible for development and adoption of S&OP across the organization. Collaborate with a cross functional teams including Warehouse and Transportation Operations, Inventory Management, Inventory Control, Finance, Sales, Business Development, and Merchandising to develop the monthly S&OP processes.

Set the strategy align with teams on tactical decision-making related to balancing demand and supply when it comes to S&OP process and alignment; aligns volume and mix with capacity and capability; and integrates financial and operating plans with strategic objectives to deliver improved operating and financial results.

Responsible for vendor collaboration and enhanced CPFR (collaborative planning forecasting and replenishment) program with key supplier partners.

What You'll Do:

  • Set the strategy and drive improvement of S&OP and S&OE processes at SpartanNash.

  • Drive the weekly and monthly S&OP and S&OE processes by working closely with and collaborating with the sales, procurement, finance, and logistics teams to address demand/supply changes and a rolling 3–12-month plan that aligns with the future growth objectives of the company.

  • Develop and manage the integration of forecasts for the operations team to consume including sales trends, marketing and promotional plans, inbound supply timing, and any other key takeaways from the planning process. Key takeaways should be translatable into the logistics organization for key decisions on transportation and warehousing.

  • Be a change agent capable of building key processes and relationships that enhance demand forecasting, supplier performance, adherence to inventory and AOP (annual operating plan), product lifecycle management, and operational capabilities.

  • Responsible for driving holiday plan alignment and execution through holiday planning reviews with cross functional teams

  • Establish and maintain core KPIs that assess the overall operational performance of the process and business (MAPE forecast accuracy, Warehouse Throughput and others).

  • Coordinate and facilitate the monthly S&OP meetings for SpartanNash to achieve the demand plan consensus including strategic, product, sales, and marketing activities as well as supply plan balance and constraints/gaps.

  • Facilitate closing gaps between the demand and supply plans and the annual financial plan and long-range plan (LRP). Suggest/prepare alternatives to resolve issues.

  • Ensure efficient communication across functional teams for any trends, drivers and takeaways in a clear and concise manner.

  • Drive the vendor collaboration and CPFR program with key supplier partners to be an extension of the internal S&OP process and to see positive impact for both SpartanNash and suppliers.

  • Develop, monitor and enforce supplier performance scorecard as part of the enhanced CPFR program.

  • Oversee and direct the activities for the expediting team which is part of the S&OE (sales and operations execution) process

  • Responsible for people management including staffing, training, performance management and career development of associates, and developing and monitoring department goals.

  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

What You'll Need:

  • Bachelor's Degree (Required) in Business Administration, Supply Chain, or other related fields. Master’s degree preferred.

  • Minimum of 5+ years’ experience in Supply Chain Management, Demand Planning, Inventory Management, or related field.

  • Three years of supervisory experience.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.

  • Demonstrated knowledge in Inventory Management and Planning.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skill set.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including a demonstrated ability to distill information into actionable, persuasive insights

  • Ability to travel up to 25%.
