Broking Support Specialist

Located in either Calgary the Broking Support Specialists will play an integral role in the establishment, and subsequent ongoing success, of our new Broking Operations team!

Applicants must be legally authorized to work in Canada. This role is not eligible for sponsorship, and we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa or work permit.

What the day will look like

  • Manage and resolve basic inquiries associated with all aspects of Aon Client Services (ACS) service delivery (e.g. output delivery, basic broking inquiries, etc.) and refer more complex inquiries to senior team members.

  • Perform necessary activities to support broking teams in collaborating with account management to initiate a renewal, preparing and submitting marketing proposals to underwriters, processing endorsements and other client requests

  • Identify and retrieve relevant compliance documentation necessary to process new policies and policy renewals, changes, additions, deletions and cancellations;

  • Calculating adjustments and premiums on policies and other insurance documents;

  • Liaise with insurer partners to retrieve and then in coordination with the Broker review policy documentation (quotes, binders, policies) to ensure coverage requirements have been met, completing policy checklists

  • Ensure system of record (Xpress) is accurate and current to ensure outputs and client deliverables will be produced according to guidelines and policy detail.

  • Communicating directly with underwriters to follow up or obtain additional information;

  • Liaise and be responsive to inquiries from outsourced provider to manage and ensure the timeliness and quality of outputs.

  • Upload, index or attach documents in Document Management System.

  • Monitor and attend to requests via our service platform (Polaris) that require action in a timely manner.

  • Help colleagues troubleshoot and resolve basic client issues around ACS services.

  • Participate in office, insurer and client visits where required.

  • Leads by example by demonstrating and sharing knowledge with all lines of business the importance of best practices and acting as the subject matter expert to all operational and procedural activities for the Broking operations team;

  • Performs other related duties as required.

    How this opportunity is different

    You will collaborate closely with your teammates to ensure the efficiency and accuracy of all Broking process steps, including document review and management, premium calculations, and liaising with internal and external team members in order to achieve deadlines and deliverables.

    Skills and experience that will lead to success

  • 2 years’ experience or more in the insurance industry, and particularly in Broking support, would be ideal

  • Exceptional communication skills, both oral and written

  • Proven ability to explain complex subject matter to non-expert audiences

  • Demonstrated success in managing competing priorities and tight timelines
