Viamo Inc Senior Full Stack Software Engineer - 321 Product in Calgary, Canada

Senior Full Stack Software Engineer - 321 Product

About Viamo

Mobile technology is revolutionizing how organizations engage with their end users. More than 96% of the world's population has access to a mobile phone, meaning it is now possible to reach nearly every single person on the planet. Yet 3 billion people living in emerging markets still lack access to relevant, timely, and engaging information in their local languages, and their voices remain underheard. The organizations that serve them lack the technology and capacity to reach them, and many are unaware of the power of mobile technology to meet their organizational goals.

Viamo connects individuals and organisations using digital technology to make better decisions.

With more than 30 million people reached in 2020 alone, we are well on our way to meeting our goal of reaching 50 million people annually by 2023.

Product

Viamo's 321 service delivers essential life-improving information to millions of people per month in 20 countries around the world (and growing). The 321 Product Crew is focussed on next-generation features to serve these users better: fresh and dynamic content, personalization of the service, new channels and formats, and organic. In the medium term, the 321 product is expected to also feature natural language processing and machine learning to optimize the experience for end-users.

  • Balance quick fixes and long term solutions - Deliver solutions quickly while making highly informed choices that ensure the success of future development and product vision.

  • Provide examples - Use consistent coding patterns and implementation ideas to build familiarity across the team.

  • Provide support and unblock customers - Respond to outages and production issues related to your products, once they are triaged and assessed by our Product Support engineers.

  • Teamwork, learning, and support

  • Collaborate and contribute - Support your Product Crew and Chapter members to take responsibility, showing through example how to unleash others and move the team forward.

  • Learn, grow, and support growth - Actively share knowledge by leading learning sessions, coordinating processes, and engaging in the Backend or Frontend Chapter. Coach and mentor other developers.

  • Unblock team members - Work with an awareness of the most important priorities to create value for our users, but also to unblock other team members.

  • People Management (optional) - If you enjoy dedicating part of your time to invest in others, there is an option to take on management responsibility for other developers:

  • Make sure developers have what they need to succeed

  • Provide encouragement, feedback, and support progress through regular 1-on-1s
