PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

As the Team Lead, Locomotive Fuel Equalization & HPH you will process and reconcile Horse Power Hours (HPH) and Fuel Equalization (Fuel EQ) files with all Class 1 rail roads and applicable Class 2 rail roads, validating the interchange (exchange) of Locomotives between railways and perform data analysis to ensure CPKC interests are protected. Data analytics are also used to determine more efficient ways for extracting and consolidating data and ensuring accuracy.

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Creatively work with multiple tools to manage and analyze large volumes of data from multiple sources to develop valuable insights

  • Develop knowledge of the railroad and industry/CPKC specific processes and technologies

  • Provide unsolicited advice for observed improvement and cost saving opportunities

  • Develop and pursue improvement and renewal of outdated Equipment Run-Through agreements with the foreign railroads as they pertain to HPH and Fuel EQ

  • Perform data gathering and process HPH files with all class 1 Railroads

  • Reconcile & invoice HPH files

  • Issue regular HPH reporting to key stake holders

  • Regularly audit Fuel EQ data of Foreign Rail Roads for accuracy & integrity

  • Cross functional training to EOTD (end of train device), fuel conservation for employee development and successor planning

    POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • At least 3 years of combined analytics, data management and/or data science experience within transportation or related industry

  • University degree, preferably in Analytics or Business

  • Established analytical, investigative, problem-solving and root cause identification skills

  • Must be both team oriented and able to work independently with limited supervision

  • Strong analytical, interpersonal and negotiating skills

  • Good understanding of data reconciliation

  • Strong Excel and MS skills

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing

    Management Conductor Program:
