Job SummaryAvantor Services offers a wide range of Laboratory services designed to save our customers time and money. These services range from centralised Glass washing to research activities and all share a central theme in supporting our customers, enabling them to recover valuable research time and to increase their lab productivity.

We are looking for a Dispatch Team Leader to manage the dispatch operation for finished and packaged samples across all our labs in the Cambridge area. This is an exciting time to join the Avantor team, supporting the on-site service solution that we provide for AstraZeneca.

Your role is essential in ensuring that our finished products leave our dispatch units on time, in immaculate condition, and that any day-to-day issues are managed.

Working hours: Monday-Friday 09:00am-17:00pm

What you’ll do on a typical day:

  • Lead the sample dispatch operation from the front, taking care to ensure that samples are dispatched on time, in line with SLA’s

  • Communicate workload priorities through the coordination and execution of daily tasks to your team

  • Create, maintain, and update relevant documentation in support of service delivery compliance and training such as work instructions, risk assessments and training records

  • Prepare monthly and quarterly review slides for AstraZeneca governance reviews including KPI data capture along with reporting and analysis of any deviations

  • Oversee team workload and manage performance whilst identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.

What you’ll need to be successful at Avantor:

  • Ideally, you will have knowledge of IATA and known Consignor Regulations. Up to date IATA, ADR and IMDG training is desirable

  • Experience leading a team of operatives, ideally in a production dispatch environment

  • Proven experience in leading and managing a successful team which delivers results and achieves KPI’s

  • Proficiency in data capture, analysis, and reporting utilising various IT systems

  • Your own vehicle and the flexibility to travel as per business needs in and around Cambridge.
