Luke & Associates, Inc. ER Paramedic (Emergency Room Paramedic) in Camp Pendleton, California

PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT/NURSE PRACTITIONER

SITE OF SERVICE:

  • Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton, CA
    • Emergency Department
  • PRN (30 to 60 hr per month)

POSITION QUALIFICATION/REQUIREMENTS:

  • Experience: One year of full-time experience within the last three years as a nurse practitioner or physician assistant in a Level III or higher Emergency Department.
  • Degree:
    • Nurse Practitioner Masters Degree in Nursing
    • Physician Assistant Bachelors Degree
  • Education:
    • Nurse Practitioner: Graduate from an academic program within the nursing specialty field of study accredited by a regional or national nursing accrediting agency recognized by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) OR the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
    • Physician Assistant: Graduate from an accredited college or university certified by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education of the Physician Assistant (ARCPA).
  • Certification:
    • Nurse Practitioner: Certified as a Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP), OR the recognized national nursing certification organization for the specialty area of practice as appropriate (for example, National Certification Board of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners and Nurses, American Nurses Association, National Certification Corporation for the Obstetric, Gynecologic and Neonatal Specialties).
    • Physician Assistant: Certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
  • Additional Certifications:
  • Possess current Basic Life Saver (BLS) hands-on certification through the AHA.
  • Licensure: Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner.
  • U.S. Citizenship: HCWs performing under this contract shall be U.S. citizens.
  • English Language Requirement: The Contractor shall ensure that all HCWs providing services under this contract can read, write, and speak English well enough to communicate effectively.
  • HCW Physical Capability: HCWs shall be physically capable of standing and sitting for extended periods and performing all services required under the contract.
  • Training Requirements: Attend the Annual Navy Pain Symposium/NCPMP meeting. Date TBD

HOURS:

  • Emergency Room coverage services are required 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including Federal Holidays.
  • Shift duration will be 8.5, 10.5, or 12.5 hours, including a 30-minute uncompensated meal break.
  • In no instance will the required coverage exceed 275 hours per four-week period.

ORIENTATION HOURS:

  • Orientation will be conducted Monday through Friday between 0700 to 1630.
  • Each HCW will undergo a maximum of 40 hours or one week of orientation.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS Must be comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.Must be able and willing to reprioritize on short notice and work on multiple simultaneous projects. Must be flexible and able to work with various personalities. Teamwork skills and time management skills are required. The ability to meet deadlines in a deadline-intensive environment is essential. Must have a high level of adaptability and willingness to embrace change in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
