MF & Associates IT Project Officer in Canberra, Australia

Expression of Interest

You will be exposed to an exciting new opportunity to co-ordinate activities for our Australian Federal Government clients related to software implementation, cyber security uplift, and system transformation projects.

You will work in a highly skilled team of industry experts to help identify business improvements, and develop new processes, procedures, and work instructions. You will contribute to supporting the uplift of security posture and the understanding of security best practices across the organisation by:

  • Providing a range of project management and support services to team,

  • Coordinating resources, maintaining project documentation, and implementing and monitoring project plans to ensure project outcomes are achieved

  • Supporting projects to meet quality standards and project scopes, in line with established agency project management methodology.

  • Undertaking research and analysis, identifying trends and preparing project briefs, to support informed decision-making and planning.

  • Communicating with key stakeholders and coordinate working groups, committees, and consultations to facilitate exchange of information and support project completion in line with project plans.

  • Sourcing, collating and compiling data and information to identify emerging issues and track and report on project progress against established milestones and deliverables.

You will need strong written and verbal communication skills, a drive to learn and develop professionally, a keen attention to detail, and a passion for cyber security solutions. We are open to candidates who are graduates or in the first few years of their professional career in various professions.

To work with our Australian Federal Government clients, you must be an Australian citizen and hold an AGSVA security clearance (minimum baseline).

Other essential requirements include:

  • A strong work ethic, ability to self-manage time to deliver outcomes as part of a dynamic team.

  • A professional and polite demeanour, and a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

  • A drive to learn and develop professionally, including about cyber security or adjacent ICT concepts.

  • Being details orientated.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.

The following experience will be highly regarded:

  • A broad understanding of cyber security concepts and/or experience in a similar role.

  • Relevant experience managing the implementation of IT projects.

  • A broad knowledge of IT technologies and terminology.

  • Familiarity with cyber management reporting and metrics.

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Project system or similar.

  • Familiarity of project management framework Prince2 or similar.

  • Familiarity with Information Security and Cyber Frameworks and standards.
