The Opportunity:

The Project Controls Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring the successful planning, execution, and monitoring of projects. They are responsible for the establishment and maintenance of project control systems, including cost, schedule, and risk management.

This position requires a highly analytical and organized individual with a keen eye for detail. Communication skills, both verbal and written are critical for the role in view of the dynamic nature of projects required to be supported.

The key responsibilities of the role will include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop, maintain and project budgets (including expenditures and variances) accounting for documentation controls processes

  • Prepare cost reports and forecasts, inclusive of recommendations to correct variances in the project budget

  • Manage workforce plans including updates based on actuals and forecasted resource requirements

  • Support accounting processes, such as Accounts Payable and Receivable using in-house financial tooling

  • Prepare and submit monthly accruals

  • Manage client Monthly Financial Reporting including estimates, forecasting and project status reports

  • Manage Project WBS elements in conjunction with Project and Program Managers

  • Assist in Bid Estimation and Pricing schedule processes for contract changes

  • Support project audits and project status reports as required

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

Essential:

  • Excellent business acumen and a commercially minded approach

  • Proven experience in project controls or related roles, preferably within defence industry

  • Demonstrated experience in governance and compliance of programs of work and effectively managing and overseeing multiple schedules, budgets and teams to achieve success

  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment

  • Proven experience with project management of multi-disciplined teams

  • NV1 Security clearance

Desirable:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field

  • PMP (Project Management Professional) or relevant certifications in program management are desirable

  • Agile delivery experience
