The Opportunity

Our Aerospace client requires the support of an experienced Project Cost Estimation Specialist to assist in the cost estimation and scheduling activities across Future Air Mobility SPO (FAMSPO).

The Project Cost Estimation Specialist will report to the Lead PM and is responsible for the effective delivery of all cost estimation related taskings. They will also support the broader PM Team in project schedule management. Broadly, the Project Controls Specialist will be required to:

  • Analyse, define and establish cost estimation practices in accordance with Defence / CASG policies.

  • Manage and deliver cost estimation requirements for client projects.

  • Develop and provide schedule analysis reports to meet project requirements.

  • Support the Program Management Function team to centralise project controls activities managed throughout the program office including cost estimation, risk, lessons learnt and schedule development, maintenance and analysis.

  • Review/refine/develop/retire project controls artefacts to support the program office strategic and operational outcomes.

  • Mentor and knowledge transfer project controls and reporting expertise across the broader team.

Required Qualifications, Experience and Knowledge

  • Demonstrated expertise and experience in cost estimation;

  • Demonstrated experience in the Defence Aviation Environment;

  • Demonstrated experience in the current One Defence Capability System;

  • Demonstrated competence and experience in complex stakeholder engagement;

  • Effective written and oral communications and skills;

  • Advanced MS Office Skills (Excel, Project etc.);

  • Familiarity with Defence Project Management and Scheduling tools (such as OPP (desirable); and

  • Demonstrated experience in the CASG SPO environment (desirable).

This role requires an NV1 security clearance. Brindabella Park, ACT is the location for this position, however, flexible working arrangements may be negotiated for ideal candidates.
