Description

Robert Half has a superb opportunity for an Accounts Receivable (A/R) professional. To succeed in this role, you will enter, post and reconcile batches, research and resolve customer A/R issues, prepare aging report, place billing and collection calls, maintain cash receipts journal, update, and reconcile sub-ledger to G/L. This is a long-term contract / temporary Accounts Receivable Specialist position and is based in the Carlstadt, New Jersey area.

Major responsibilities

• Pinpoint delinquent customer accounts through various means, e.g. written correspondence, phone contact, skip-tracing, and making arrangements for payment

• Provide information, as requested to the sales/marketing department, shippers, customers, and other stakeholders

• Help resolve payment issues by contacting clients, assist in setting up payment plans

• Take care of payments and compile segments of monthly closings and annual reports in compliance with GAAP

• Test documents and codes

• Execute a number of foundational accounting tasks in agreement with normal procedures, including general accounting tasks

• Credits and Debits

• Cash application

• Collections

  Requirements

• Established analytical skills in basic accounts receivable and accounting policy

• 2+ years of relevant experience in accounts receivable

• Efficient in ERP systems

• AA or BS/BA degree in Accounting or related field desired

• Collection experience

• Expertise in Microsoft Excel
