New opportunity in Greene County!

TheTransportation Mobility Manageris responsible for making transportation connections with the general public in need of transportation services. This includes customers in Greene County and its surrounding areas for senior citizens , people with disabilities, people with lower incomes, veterans, and the general public.

The Transportation Mobility Manager works as a liaison between the public, transportation providers and funding sources to achieve a more efficient transportation system through the coordination of service providers (i.e. Transportation Advisory Board, Department of Aging and Youth, Planning Department, Department of Social Services, the Veterans Association of Greene County, Greene County, various community agencies, transportation system providers and other regional organizations).

Responsibilities include:

  • Responsible for the coordination of requested rider needs with transportation providers in Greene County.

  • Respond to customer inquiries, identify gaps in service and assist with finding solutions to those needs.

  • Provide a key role in coordination of individualized trip planning for customers of the service.

  • Manage the coordination of transportation providers for needed services and assist with arrangements for billing and payments.

  • Collect information on customer satisfaction.

  • Develop a one stop call center to coordinate transportation information on travel modes available.

  • Assist with the marketing and dissemination of information to the general public and human service agencies.

  • Coordinate with 211 call centers as they become available in the area.

  • Assist with the development and maintenance of technological solutions for mobility management including vehicle scheduling, dispatching, and monitoring and to help with tracking of system costs and billing.

  • Maintain statistical data on services provided and projected service needs.

  • Develop and review customer information systems.

  • Work with the Greene County Transportation Advisory Board to develop strategies to meet new service needs.

  • Provide support through the collection and sharing of data throughout various stages of program development so that program effectiveness can be measured.

  • Maintain an inventory of available transportation services and related eligibility and funding requirements.

  • Complete financial and record keeping requirements as required by funding sources.

  • Responsible for scheduling, chairing quarterly meetings of the Transportation Advisory Board including but not limited to keeping records and meeting minutes.

  • Responsible for updating and presenting the Human Services Greene County Coordinated Transportation Plan.

  • Responsible for Public Announcements regarding transportation changes in Greene County as requested.

  • Responsible for maintaining and reporting Mobility Management Quarterly Reports for the 5311 Application Requirements.

    HOURS: 40/Monday through Friday/day hours, must have flexibility

    STARTING SALARY: $ 58,500 to $ 68,152.50 per year, depending on relevant education and experience

Minimum Requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably with experience in public transportation; or

  • Associate’s Degree and preferably 2 years or more experience in public transportation with supervisory, management or compliance experience; or

  • High School or equivalent and 4 years or more experience in public transportation, human services, and/or working with older adults, people with disabilities and/or individuals with lower incomes in a supervisory, management or compliance role.

  • Strong leadership, planning and project management experience required.

  • Presentation skills, creative problem solving and networking skills required.

  • Knowledge of Federal and State transportation regulations and policies preferred.

  • Must be customer focused with excellent oral and written communication competencies.

  • Must be able to work occasional evenings & weekends.

  • Must have a valid New York State driver’s license.

  • Familiarity with data bases, customer relations management (CRM), Geographic Information Systems (GIS) mapping, Global Positioning System Technology or other applicable technologies a plus.

  • Prior experience working with older adults, people with disabilities and/or individuals with lower incomes desired.

  • Experience working in or with public transportation systems preferred.

  • General knowledge of Greene County New York a plus.
