Responsibilities

The Director, Clinical Services is responsible for the planning, direction, coordination, supervision, evaluation and provision of all clinical services provided by the assigned facility location. Oversees the coordination, continuity, and quality of clinical care, as well as the management of patient services and monitors, evaluates, and takes action on clinical measures of performance. Participates in the recruitment of employees, and provides the supervision necessary to facilitate the provision of quality care and patient satisfaction; and leads the education, training, and development of associates

  • Functions as an effective team member and contributes to the development and achievement of location(s) and organizational goals and objectives.

  • Is promptly and professionally available to assist and provide support and guidance to all office and clinical staff.

  • Maintains effective communication and confidentiality of information.

  • Ensures clinical supervision of personnel in all care and service areas are provided 24 hours per day and 7 days a week.

  • Ensures the effective delivery of clinical services to patients in accordance with company clinical, strategic, quality improvement and productivity standards.

  • Oversees clinical operations and assures compliance and competency to home care/hospice policy, accrediting body’s standards and Federal, State, and County rules and regulations.

  • Ensure the accuracy, completeness and timeliness of clinical records and regulatory, operational and financial compliance.

  • Provides oversight to the orientation program and ongoing clinical education within the location(s) to assure clear, concise, and accurate education of all employees.

  • Responsible to lead all State, Federal, County or accrediting body surveys in location(s).

Managing Direct Reports

  • Responsible for the recruitment and retention, orientation, ongoing training, direction, supervision and evaluation of all clinical staff and support for back office staff as location(s) needs require. Assures staff competency and ensures staff are performing at organizational productivity benchmarks.

  • Creates an “expectation of excellence” and manages performance of direct reports to maximize the value of employee’ contributions toward organizational success.

  • Provides direction and support to employees to deliver quality services with a focus on organizational success.

  • Supports and promotes department, branch, and organization decisions.

Clinical Services

  • Demonstrates sensitivity to the needs, customs, or feelings of patient and caregivers.

  • Ensure patient’s plan of care is individualized and appropriate.

  • Provides employee education leadership; with implementation assistance from the Manager, Clinical Services

  • Completes assigned work flow accurately and in a timely manner.

  • May serve at Administrator of Record with State Regulatory agency.

Quality

  • Responsible for the location’s quality improvement and clinical excellence program.

  • Assures appropriate service utilization and appropriate OASIS scoring.

  • Assures effective and efficient use of all chronic care management programs in the location.

  • Reviews all occurrence and complaint reports and related follow up needed.

Qualifications

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN), Physical Therapist, or Occupational Therapist license in good standing to practice in the state(s) in which they operate.

  • Must obtain and maintain current CPR or BLS Certification

  • Three years management experience is highly preferred.

  • Two years clinical home care experience is highly preferred.

  • Excellent clinical skills.

  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of regulatory home care requirements is a plus.

  • OASIS certified, or willing to obtain certification within the first two years of employment.

Pay Range

$43.04 - $62.41 /hour
