    Overview

As a Senior Merchandising Specialist at Chadwell Supply, you will serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for a key product line—HVAC, lighting and electrical, appliances and plumbing, locks and hardware, or green initiatives. In this strategic role, you will collaborate with Marketing, Purchasing, Renovations, and Sales teams to ensure optimal product presentation, accurate promotions, and clear communication. You will leverage technology to develop and execute impactful promotional strategies, drive product innovation, and enhance merchandising processes to boost sales and profitability. Key responsibilities include building strong vendor relationships, negotiating for product quality and cost efficiency, and employing data analytics to forecast trends and consumer behavior. Success in this role involves using technology to innovate merchandising strategies, stay ahead of retail trends, and advance to higher-level opportunities.

What you will need

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Business, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.

  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in sales, product marketing, or merchandising, with a proven track record in driving successful outcomes.

    How you will make an impact

  • Increase incremental product line sales and overall profitability through advanced marketing promotions and strategic pricing initiatives. 

  • Manage the introduction of new products to field sales teams and online customers, ensuring successful launch strategies and execution. 

  • Continuously monitor sales performance, identifying opportunities for growth and profit maximization through proactive analysis. 

  • Partner with suppliers to introduce new products, manage promotional activities, reduce overstock, and facilitate effective product disposal strategies. 

  • Collaborate closely with the Pricing Analyst to establish competitive pricing that balances market demands and profitability objectives. 

  • Gain a deep understanding of the customer base, including motivations and sales drivers, to inform merchandising strategies. 

  • Analyze customer feedback to anticipate sales trends and seasonal stock demands, adapting strategies accordingly. 

  • Conduct thorough research on industry trends and consumer behavior to anticipate demand shifts and changing buying patterns. 

  • Evaluate the effectiveness of various product displays, catalog placements, flyers, digital channels, and promotional incentives (spiffs) to optimize visibility and sales impact. 

  • Collaborate with the Pricing Analyst to review competitor product offerings, identifying gaps and opportunities for new product introductions.

  • Prepare and present comprehensive reports on merchandising performance, market trends, and strategic recommendations to senior management.

  • Provide guidance and support to junior merchandising team members, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
