Job Title: Technician, Production

Reports To: Supervisor, Production

Position Location: Charleston, SC

FLSA Status (Exempt/Non-Exempt): Non-Exempt

Position Summary:

The Production Technician is responsible for the production and/or packaging of a variety of manufactured products. The position requires technical knowledge of automated manufacturing systems and ability to perform minor maintenance. Use Good Manufacturing Practices and problem-solving techniques in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Critical thinking skills related to production equipment used for automated packaging, sorting, washing, cutting, taping, labeling, counting, and the assembly of CP products

  • Work with robotics, vision systems and PLC/HMI controls

  • Meet and/or exceed production metric standards while maintaining a focus on quality

  • Monitor systems and troubleshoot equipment used for precision weighing

  • Ensure work area and equipment are maintained in a clean and orderly condition

  • A vision for safety and the ability to implement a high level of 5S

  • Perform related equipment maintenance duties on automated systems / robotics as required by supervisor

  • Performs other duties as assigned

Education:

  • High School diploma, General Education Degree, or equivalent required; 2-year technical degree or certification from an accredited institution preferred

Experience:

  • 3 or more years of previous related experience

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Possess intermediate mathematical skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division

  • Self-directed, team player, goal focused

  • Comprehensive understanding of Lean Manufacturing

  • Thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, efficiently works under pressure, within deadlines or other time essential constraints

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to clearly and concisely communicate to all levels of the organization

  • Strong work ethic and an ability to excel within a rapidly changing and growing organization
