Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The Assistant Director for Student Accountability and Support manages and develops staff and students assigned in assigned buildings/areas, provides departmental leadership in the training and professional development of staff, guides process and policy development related to residential student behavioral concerns and community standards, manages cases within the Maxient conduct system and maintains campus partnerships with Student Accountability & Conflict Resolution, Police and Public Safety, Counseling & Psychological Services, the Title IX Office, etc. The Assistant Director is a member of the department’s senior management team and is responsible for providing departmental leadership in crisis situations. The Assistant Director serves as a consultant and a resource to professional and student staff within the department in the areas of case management, behavioral intervention, duty response, policy and compliance, staff training/development, and supervision. This position will be responsible for working with and assisting the Division of Student Affairs and Housing and Residence Life with gathering research, creating reports and all assessment efforts related to Residence Life. The Assistant Director reports to the Associate Director of Residence Life.

Principal responsibilities include supervision and development of full-time staff, serving as a senior management team member; providing leadership and community development for residential students, overseeing residential student accountability and support processes; performing crisis management, and other departmental/campus- wide responsibilities.

Minimum Experience / Education:

  • Master’s degree (ideally in higher education, counseling and/or student personnel, or a related field).

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of professional housing (post-masters) experience in housing, student affairs, or a related field.

Preferred Education Skills and Experience:

  • Experience using Maxient conduct software system

  • Experience with case management with college students

  • Experience supervising graduate or professional staff

  • Experience serving in on-call response and/or in crisis management
