WESCO Maintenance Technician in Charlotte, North Carolina

Shift: Monday through Friday, 1st Shift/daytime hours. Full time.

This position will perform interior lighting maintenance at customer locations throughout the service territory (facilities are primarily within a 100 mile radius of Greensboro, NC. Company vehicle is provided).

A Day in The Life of a Maintenance Technician

As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for performing maintenance and a repair of mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and other physical structures. You will maintain, troubleshoot, and repair facilities mechanical and electrical systems.

  • Perform maintenance on facility equipment, including high voltage test equipment and systems

  • Maintain equipment, parts, and supply inventory by checking stock to determine appropriate inventory levels

  • Prepare mechanical maintenance reports

  • Record and process findings of maintenance duties on maintenance log

  • Identify root cause of problems by observing mechanical devices in operations

Education & Experience

  • High school degree or equivalent required

  • 5 years of service and maintenance of electric machinery required

  • 2 years of facility repair and maintenance experience required

  • 2 years of handling high voltage test equipment required; 5 years preferred

Skills & Requirements

  • Proficient in mechanical calibration

  • Ability to read and work from blueprints and sketches

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

  • Ability to be on your feet for extended periods
