About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Market Risk Specialist as a part of Wells Fargo's second line of defense and Independent Risk Management team. The Senior Market Risk Specialist covers jobs focused on potential loss due to market movements such as changes in interest rates, equity prices, credit spreads, and foreign exchange rates. Responsible for measuring and analyzing the organization's risk exposure (e.g., value at risk) for market, interest rate and counterparty risk activities.
In this role, you will:
Lead or participate in risk program development or maintenance and provide oversight of market, interest rate and counterparty risk activities within Market Risk
Contribute to evaluating and approving risk models related to risk management framework
Evaluate and approve moderately complex trading models, market risk, basis risk, delivery risk and counterparty aggregated credit risk exposure on a daily or long-range basis for specific financial products
Consult and implement initiatives with moderate to high risk and lead team to meet market risk deliverables
Leverage solid understanding of risk management challenges and provide input with focus on risk disclosures, remediation, due diligence, suitability, and reputation risk
Collaborate and consult with management and board of directors to provide periodic or scheduled risk reports that present a companywide view of risk management
Required Qualifications, US:
- 4+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: trading, desk analyst, Capital Markets, market risk, interest rate risk or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Required Qualifications, International:
- Experience in Capital Markets, trading or interest rate risk, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
Advanced Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) skills
Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to negotiate, influence, and collaborate to build successful relationships
Experience delivering results in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment
SQL experience
Exposure to counterparty credit risk metrics (PFE, EPE, CVA, BASEL)
Experience with a variety of asset classes and types of trading products including some, or all, of the following: Derivatives (Interest Rate, Equity, FX, Credit, and Commodity), Security Trading or Security Finance
Strong SQL and Data Analysis skills.
Experience producing Business requirements (BRD), including research and analysis
Familiarity with Credit and/or Market risk methodologies (valuation, Monte Carlo, Greeks, VaR) and risk systems
Experience with UAT testing including planning, execution and documenting of results
CFA and/or PRM and/or FRM certification is preferred
Undergraduate degree in finance, economics, business, mathematics, or a quantitative, technical or related field.
