University of Virginia Open Rank Academic Investigator, Ophthalmology in Charlottesville, Virginia

The Department ofOphthalmology (https://med.virginia.edu/ophthalmology/) at the University of Virginia (UVA) seeks applications for Open Rank Academic Investigator.

The successful candidate will be expected to support research efforts to reduce vision-threatening eye disease, to develop new concepts in understanding the mechanisms of ocular disease, independently carry out experiments, and contribute to the mission for vision science, serving as a resource and mentor for the research group and serve an active role in the education and training of research fellows, laboratory staff, and medical students.

Salary, rank, and tenure is commensurate with education and experience.

This position will remain open till filled and review of applications will begin at the end August. The University will perform background checks on all new hires prior to employment. A completed pre-employment health screen is required for this position prior to employment.

Qualified candidates must have an MD or equivalent by appointment start date.
