Job Overview:
To make regular inspections of the galley and service areas, refrigerated storerooms, cooking utensils, and equipment areas to ensure correct standards are met at all times.
This role will be working in offshore vessel.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
Responsible for the management of the ship’s catering and accommodation services in an efficient manner
To manage and guide the catering staff
To plan menu and expenditure control within the approved budget
To be responsible for the preparation, cooking, presentation, and service of all meals
To determine the level of stores and purchases within the catering department
To maintain paperwork in conjunction with store issues/receipts, including end-of-month costings, etc.
To supervise the Stewards as necessary
To be responsible for the security of all goods in store, their condition, and arrangements for issue.
To supervise the operation of the ship’s laundry
To prepare requisitions for outfits, bedding, and soft furnishings
To be familiar with all Company procedures, including the Safety Management System, applicable to his duties
Responsible for refusing unsafe work and for carrying out all work in accordance with the established safety standards and work practices.
Taking part in emergency and occupational onboard training such as the use of self-contained breathing apparatus, firefighting, man overboard exercises, lifeboat launching, security drills, and/or other training as applicable for the function
Wearing, inspecting, and caring for required personal protective equipment
Essential Qualifications and Education:
High School Graduate or Equivalent
Experience as a Steward/Cook/ Food Handler (as per MLC 2006)
Computer literate, basic knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet and email applications

Valid Medical Certificate of Fitness
