Position : Data Engineer I

Location : Manapakkam, Chennai, IND-TN

Overview

This program is responsible for developing reporting solutions for vulnerability management. Reporting of vulnerabilities is required for application and infrastructure owners to identify risks on their systems and actions required to remediate. In addition, reporting will be needed for GE Vernova leaders to understand risk of security, operations, and the business. Currently our reporting solution is in definition and development phase as we build GE Vernova. Qualys will be used as our initial reporting solution and moving to more enhanced reporting with a backend database and visualization front end such as tableau or similar technology. The GE Vernova team will be implementing Qualys CSAM in Q3/Q4 of 2024 and will require assistance. This is an integration of Qualys to pull vulnerability information from ServiceNow into Qualys.

Scope

Includes working on data from Qualys, ServiceNow and present it in a format that is easily digestible for application and infrastructure owners as well as GE Vernova leaders.

Activities and requirements

· Work with GE team to obtain direction for GE Vernova EVM reporting.

· Work with the GE staff to Implement Qualys CSAM

· Develop SQL code for reports and data Ingestion programming

· Data visualization by developing dashboards In tableau, Qualys or similar technologies.

· Attend daily standups to report status and assign backlog items

· Ensure process and operational documentation aligns with any development efforts

· Identify opportunities for improvement and automation

· Monitor daily metric status reports and act upon any actionable events

· Work across multiple teams to partner on both data source ingestions and issue resolution

· Create support tickets as necessary

· Communicate status to management and downstream teams as necessary

Desired Characteristics:

· Strong background in SQL

· Experience with data visualization tools

· Background in cyber security methodology and controls

· Urge to drive continuous improvement

· Strong oral and written communication skills

· Strong interpersonal skills
