Actalent Interview is currently hiring hiring for a Certified Medical Assistant in the Chesapeake, VA area!
Job Description:
-Responsible for rooming patients and prepare them for examination
-Takes patients vital signs which include blood pressure, height, weight and documents in EMR
-Updates patient medical record including medications, allergies, past medical & surgical history
-Preps procedure room for minor procedures.
-Prepares exam rooms for provider dependent on appointment type.
-Cleans exam room and beds after each appointment and restocks medical supplies daily.
-Assist physician and Acute Care Providers with patient examinations.
-Draws blood, perform EKG, SWAB test and any additional clinical test within clinic.
-Manages Physician orders by submitting to appropriate departments such as imagining, labs, scheduling surgeries, of referral to specialist. Confirm all orders are completed and that results have been returned.
-Obtain Prior Authorizations as needed.
-Able to check in patients, register patients, verify insurance, scan documents in patient charts, answer phones, return phone calls, and schedule appointments.
-Presents strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
-Will need to be ok bouncing between MA and desk duties
