Collins Aerospace's Strategic Solutions business unit is seeking a Principal Customer Quality Engineer (CQE) for our Cheshire, CT team within Mission Systems.

In this role you will lead quality initiatives and manage processes, ensuring the delivery of compliant systems and adherence to specific customer quality requirements throughout the program lifecycles. As a MiS CQE, you will support programs by developing Quality Assurance (QA) technical requirements using approved development processes and procedures. You will collaborate with Mission Assurance (MA) and program management to tailor existing plans, administering customer and internal quality requirements to program teams and the supply base.

What You Will Do:

  • Leverage quality best practices to influence business decision-makers, ensuring efforts focus on customer priorities and mission success requirements.

  • Communicate program goals, objectives, requirements, and customer feedback to all QA disciplines, cross-functional teammates, and the supply base to ensure alignment.

  • Define and analyze QA metrics.

  • Establish customer relations, process, and validate customer corrective action requests.

  • Assess the impact of potential customer issues.

  • Serve as the voice of the customer to independently ensure mission success.

  • Demonstrate strong communication skills and work effectively within a cross-functional team environment.

  • Manage customer-funded improvement projects.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience

  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required

  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

  • Must have experiences with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, MS Access, MS Project, etc.

  • Familiar with technical procedures, specifications, standards, and other engineering and manufacturing related documents.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Active/Current Secret US Department of Defense (DoD) Secret Security Clearance

  • Familiarity and practical knowledge/experience using Six Sigma methodologies (e.g., Kaizen, Lean, DMAIC, and DMADV) and or tools (e.g., ANOVA, SPC, Capability Analysis.

  • Working experience with AS 9100 quality management systems, and experience in aerospace-related manufacturing environment, is a plus.

  • Project Management Experience and PMP certification is a plus.

Hybrid: Employees who are working in Hybrid roles will work regularly both onsite and offsite. Ratio of time working onsite will be determined in partnership with your leader. This position will require 3-5 days onsite in Cheshire, CT depending on team collaboration needs which may vary week to week.

The salary range for this role is 96,000 USD - 200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
