ERP Program Manager

The ERP Program Manager applies advanced technical project management frameworks and methods in conjunction with Health System objectives to plan and execute projects in the enterprise administrative application domain (Finance, HR, Student Systems). The ERP Program Manager is an experienced project professional who can resolve highly complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. The Program Manager determines methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria to obtain results, and manages projects of broad and diverse scope, size, impact, budget, and/or project team size, with considerable impact on the organization.

The ERP Program Manager will provide accountable oversight to a portfolio of projects, applying industry best practices to manage the intake, scoping, planning, staffing, execution methodology, and long-term road-mapping of projects within the assigned portfolio. This role will partner with relevant business, clinical, PMO and IS leadership stakeholders to align projects with enterprise strategy and business/clinical/departmental goals; to ensure successful adoption and change management within and across programs and project; and to design, deliver and monitor execution and value realization plans associated with the assigned portfolio.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Defines project standards, determines business requirements, assists in the drafting of specifications, tests configurations, and modifies the system to meet business needs.

  • Serves as a liaison between end users and development, infrastructure, or other technical staff members.

  • This role will partner with relevant business, clinical, PMO and IS leadership stakeholders to align projects with enterprise strategy and business/clinical/departmental goals.

  • May develop and deliver training programs or create and maintain documentation.

  • Primarily focused on administering established policies and procedures but may have some impact on departmental budgeting, strategic planning, and procedural change.

Required Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related area and/or equivalent experience/training.

  • 5+ years of experience managing projects in enterprise applications.

  • Minimum 5+ years of related project experience

  • Requires expert, demonstrated knowledge of project management principles, theories, and concepts.

  • Requires ability to assess systemwide needs for ERP products and design services to meet those needs.

  • Working knowledge of ERP-related initiatives and an understanding of the impact on the organization of such initiatives.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple-related projects/program management.

  • Demonstrated capacity to anticipate obstacles and plan for contingencies.

  • Demonstrated attention to detail. Demonstrated ability to determine relevance and prioritize tasks.

  • Demonstrated effective writing and communications skills.

  • Demonstrated competency in selecting and implementing project management methods and techniques.

  • Proven leadership ability. Effective problem-solving skills. Demonstrated ability to put forth persuasive arguments.

  • Effective skill at tracking effort and project progress.

  • Demonstrated highly advanced organization and project management skills.

  • Demonstrated experience in ERP projects, managing large-scale enterprise application implementations within a health system.

Preferred Job Qualifications:

  • Experience leading a team of technology professionals.

  • Hospital, ambulatory, or medical center operations experience preferred.

  • Experience/ knowledge of major ERP and HCM platforms (e.g. PeopleSoft, Oracle, Workday)

  • Strong knowledge of definitions and uses of data, financial and reporting systems, information flow, and data architecture. Competency in query functions and language, and basic data modeling.

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred.

  • Knowledge of all aspects of computing and communications including hardware infrastructure, networking, software, operations, and disaster recovery.

  • Understands how projects relate to other business strategies and initiatives.

  • Understands the cost impact of projects, project tracking tools, and metrics.
