Robert Half Grant Coordinator in Chicago, Illinois

Description We are in search of a meticulous Grant Accountant to join our non-profit organization based in Chicago, Illinois. In this role, you will be instrumental in managing and maintaining our grant processes and related administrative tasks. This opportunity offers a short term contract employment type and requires skills such as proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the ability to provide ad hoc support when necessary.

Responsibilities:

• Handle the vouchering process which includes managing invoices and completing forms that categorize grant usage.

• Ensure compliance with eligibility requirements related to grant usage.

• Carry out various ad-hoc administrative tasks as and when required.

• Utilize the iSupplier system for managing City of Chicago Grant Processes effectively.

• Use Microsoft Excel for data management and reporting related to grant accounting.

• Respond to and resolve queries related to grant accounting in a timely and accurate manner.

• Collaborate with various teams and departments to ensure smooth grant accounting processes.

• Provide ad hoc support to the team and perform other duties as assigned.

• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of grant accounting regulations and standards.

• Conduct regular audits of grant-related financial transactions and reports. Requirements • Must have a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

• Proven experience as a Grant Accountant or similar role in the Non-Profit sector

• Solid understanding of bookkeeping and financial principles

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

• Knowledge in preparing and processing vouchers

• Ability to provide ad hoc reports as requested by management

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities

• High attention to detail and accuracy

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Strong ethical standards and high levels of integrity

• Knowledge of federal and state financial regulations

• Commitment to working in a non-profit environment

• Willingness to continue learning and improving accounting skills.
