ReSound Learning Experience Designer in Chicago, Illinois

Our Global Audiology Training & Education Team is expanding, and we're excited to welcome a new Learning Experience Designer (LXD) to our dynamic and collaborative team. The team you will be part of

This position has the possibility of being located in either the US (remote) or at our HQ in Ballerup, Denmark.

What the role entails,

As a Learning Experience Designer at GN, you'll play a pivotal role in our mission to Bring People Closer. Collaborating with a talented team and diverse stakeholders across the organization to design and create immersive, compelling learning experiences. Your innovative solutions will engage both internal colleagues and external customers, including Hearing Care Professionals, highlighting our cutting-edge assistive hearing technology. Your projects will span from comprehensive course development and microlearning modules to job aids, learning assessment tools, and evaluations of learning effectiveness. In this role you can expect to work on exciting initiatives such as new product launches, product updates, and software releases, making a tangible impact on our audience.

Your contribution is appreciated, and you will,

  • Apply current instructional design theory, research, and best practices to create effective and engaging training products, learning experiences, and workshops.

  • Lead and manage instructional design projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with project goals.

  • Develop project plans, timelines, and track progress using project management tools for training delivery.

  • Conduct regular project status meetings and provide updates to your manager as needed.

  • Assess learner needs and create learning solutions that address business goals and support sales metrics, including e-learning courses, blended learning, microlearning, simulations, gamification, guides, process documentation, infographics, job aids, and coaching.

  • Develop necessary planning documents such as training plans and storyboards.

  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to gather content and ensure instructional material accuracy and relevance.

  • Utilize technology to enhance and create immersive, interactive, and accessible learning experiences, including audio, video, simulations, and gamification.

  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and recommend improvements.

  • Build assessments to gauge the attainment of critical skills and competencies.

To succeed in the role, we imagine that you,

  • Have a Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design or a elated field (e.g. education, training and development)

  • Have 5 + years of relevant experience, ex: in instructional design and project management

  • Have proven experience in project management. Organization of and managing multiple training projects simultaneously.

  • Are proficient with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Audition, Acrobat, Illustrator) and Articulate 360 tools (Rise, Storyline).

  • Experience creating xAPI content for integration with a Learning Experience Platform (LXP) and Learning Record Store (LRS).

  • Have experience in creating and editing videos and software simulations for eLearning.

  • Have a strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Furthermore, we imagine you are able to demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Collaboration is your middle name and will be essential in this fast-paced global environment. Further to that, being able to maintain flexibility to meet project goals and deadlines.

Additional valuable qualifications:

  • Experience creating learning experiences for diverse, global audiences, including adapting materials to meet cultural needs, regional constraints, and localization requirements.

  • Proficiency in using Airtable and Asana for project planning and database management.

  • PMP or other project management certification.

  • Administrator experience with LearnUpon Learning Experience Platform.

Travel:

  • Ability to trave 1-2 times per year for planning/team meetings, which may include global destinations.
