The Opportunity

Are you interested in leading projects in an open, transparent, and respectful team environment? Are you an expert in project management and able to apply your knowledge of agile and scrum to help teams on their journey to continuous improvement? Our location in Chicago, IL currently has an opportunity for a Sr IT Project Manager.

We are looking for a seasoned Project Manager to manage the design, development and delivery of digital services using agile software development methodologies. You will be part of the Digital Technology Services team which is responsible for a portfolio of over 300 websites across different businesses at Abbott.

What You’ll Work On

  • Use high level of knowledge and experience in blending traditional project management principles and practices with an Agile development approach in the right proportions to fit large, complex, mission-critical projects and with the appropriate level of planning and provide the right balance of agility and predictability.

  • Conduct all Scrum ceremonies, including Sprint Planning, daily Scrum Meetings, Sprint Reviews, and Sprint Retrospectives.

  • Perform continuous and active backlog grooming, calculate ongoing team capacity and velocity.

  • Help Product Owner with prioritization, risk management, and scope.

  • Maintain a close working relationship with the Product Owner, Scrum team and other stake holders.

  • Coordinate key milestones and dependencies and closely work with offshore team lead.

  • Act as a mentor to ensure development teams work toward the Scrum principles of collaboration, prioritization, team accountability, and visibility.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • Experience managing application development

  • Experience managing 3rd party suppliers

  • Experience managing stakeholders and presenting at senior leadership level

  • Minimum 6 years’ experience leading/managing large/complex software development projects in a hybrid and/or Agile development environment for digital solutions.

  • Experience with Agile techniques: User Stories, TDD, BDD, Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, Continuous Delivery, Automated Testing

  • Expertise with JIRA, Confluence, and rest of the Atlassian suite and using JIRA's Agile performance metrics to drive accountability and continuous improvement

Preferred Qualifications

  • Extensive experience with Adobe AEM/Digital Marketing Suite conceptualizing, designing, building and deploying solution

  • Knowledge of best practices in all areas of web content management systems including content governance, document workflow, personalization and taxonomy management

  • Knowledge of content migration, publishing activities in AEM or any other content management tool

  • Knowledge of other agile methodologies like Kanban

  • Excellent communication and mentoring skills

  • People and performance management experience

The base pay for this position is $95,000.00 – $190,000.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
