The University of Chicago\'s Department of Neurobiology seeks tenure-track faculty. Academic rank and tenure status will be commensurate with qualifications, although we anticipate appointment at the tenure-track assistant professor level. Compensation (including a generous package of fringe benefits) is dependent upon qualifications.

Appointees will benefit from a rich and dynamic intellectual environment at UChicago. Faculty within the Department of Neurobiology enjoy membership in the Neuroscience Institute which encompasses neuroscientists in biological, clinical, psychological and physical science departments across UChicago providing strong opportunities for interaction and collaboration. Training and mentorship opportunities are available through multiple graduate programs in the areas of neuroscience, molecular/cellular biology and neural computation, and there are strong opportunities for collaboration with clinical and translational neuroscience via neighboring clinical departments.

The University offers a rich intellectual environment that includes strength in systems and computational neuroscience, a strong translational neuroscience community and affiliations with Argonne National Laboratory and the Marine Biological Laboratory in Woods Hole. The Division, other academic units of the University, and the School of Medicine, are all contained within one compact campus in Chicago\'s Hyde Park. Appointees will have access to state-of-the-art core facilities and to outstanding colleagues and graduate students affiliated with numerous degree-granting programs within and outside the biological sciences.
