Become a Employee Safety & Risk Mitigation, Senior Project Manager at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this job, you’ll lead the implementation of mitigations as part of the new Safety Management System team. This will be critically important to enable the enterprise to systematically mitigate the risks that can lead to serious injuries and fatalities. You will be responsible for leading project teams that will implement mitigation plans across the Company targeting our highest risk areas. This will include:

  • Developing project plans for, at times, multiple and complex projects

  • Establishing and leading cross-functional project teams

  • Developing transition plans to ensure mitigations are owned and operationalized

  • Facilitating strong partnerships with all levels including senior leaders

The Employee Safety & Risk Mitigation, Senior Project Manager will have extensive expertise and full knowledge in developing and implementing moderate to complex projects, including managing multiple project teams with different skills and expertise. The senior manager must have the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of employees and leaders, including field employees and senior leaders. A day in the life - Get ready to think big, work smart and shine bright!

  • Responsible for developing project plans based on mitigations identified from the Safety Management System risk management process; this can include: project proposals, project scope and schedule, budget, delivery of results, and monitoring progress

  • Establish partnerships with subject matter experts to serve as members of project teams, identifying strengths, different skills and expertise

  • Lead successful transition of plans to sustain and operationalize mitigations into business operations, including identifying necessary resources and mitigation owners

  • Regularly collaborate with partners, such as other OU teams to ensure plans are implemented as designed and plan-do-check-adjust activities support broad SMS efforts

  • Provide recommendations to senior leaders to advise on mitigation plans and/or to obtain approvals to implement plans

The essentials

  • 10 years’ experience managing/leading/implementing programs and projects (including demonstrated experience managing and/or supporting project budget, scope, schedule, and resources, and overseeing the formal planning, tracking, and reporting of project performance.

  • Experience facilitating cross functional teams

The preferred

  • Experience managing risk management projects

  • Experience with operating plans and company goal planning processes

  • Strong skills in SharePoint

  • PowerBI Skills

  • Strong knowledge of systems-based thinking

  • Demonstrated strong analytical, problem solving and negotiation skills

  • Experience navigating competing priorities and influencing key stakeholders

  • Proficient in verbal and written communication

  • Strong Microsoft Office skills to create and build executive decks, briefings and other strategy documentation

  • Experience analyzing data and trends

You should know

This position’s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage.

The primary work location for this position is Chino CA. However, the successful candidate may also be asked to travel intermittently for work.
